About This Calculator
Volume is calculated using the formula Length × Width × (Depth ÷ 12) to get cubic feet, then divided by 27 to convert to cubic yards — the unit used by ready-mix suppliers. Bag counts use the Portland Cement Association's standard yields: 80 lb bag = 0.60 cu ft, 60 lb bag = 0.45 cu ft. A 10% waste factor is applied per ACI (American Concrete Institute) best practices to account for spillage, uneven subgrade, and form waste.
