CalcSmart provides free, accurate calculators for homeowners, contractors, builders, students, and professionals. We currently offer 15,241 free calculators across 48 categories — from concrete and roofing to mortgage amortization, calorie tracking, and unit conversion.
Every calculator is free to use with no account, subscription, or hidden fees. Our goal is to give you the same accurate estimate a professional would calculate, in seconds.
Our Methodology
Each calculator is built on published, industry-standard formulas. We verify our calculations against authoritative sources including:
- Construction: Portland Cement Association standards, ACI (American Concrete Institute) guidelines, ICC building codes
- Finance: IRS publications, Federal Reserve data, standard actuarial formulas (amortization, compound interest)
- Health & Fitness: WHO guidelines, peer-reviewed formulas (Mifflin-St Jeor, Harris-Benedict, Katch-McArdle)
- Cost estimates: RSMeans construction cost data, Bureau of Labor Statistics regional wage indexes
Where we apply regional cost adjustments (our state and city calculators), we use cost-of-living indexes and published regional construction cost multipliers. All estimates include a note recommending verification with local professionals for structural or code-critical work.
Accuracy & Updates
We review our calculators regularly and update cost data annually. Each calculator page displays its last-updated date. If you spot an error or outdated data, please contact us — we take accuracy seriously and respond to corrections promptly.
